Backyard Products Announces Major Building Expansion & New Job Opportunities

As Backyard Products continues to build backyards across America, it only makes sense that our own backyard grows too. On October 22nd, during our groundbreaking ceremony, we were pleased to announce a major expansion to our 200,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Monroe, MI. This $3 million investment offers 60,000 square feet of additional storage and improved shipping capacity.

The building completion is slated for April 2021 and we are excited to see the final results. We are also planning $1-2 million in equipment upgrades to improve efficiency and safety in the workplace.

Robert Clark, Mayor of Monroe, Michigan presents.

The Backyard Products Family Grows

We’re expecting to add 15-20 more jobs next year to help keep up with our accelerated growth model. During these unprecedented covid-19 times, this is a statement we’re very proud of.

We’re proud to share some of the highlights of the groundbreaking ceremony below.

“We are proud of our company’s Michigan presence and origins starting back in the 70’s. Since then, we have expanded in many other backyard related categories and we see tremendous growth
opportunities both organically and through continued acquisitions.

Thomas van der Meulen, CEO

“We’re excited at the prospect of creating 15-20 new jobs and also very appreciative of the continued support from the Monroe community and assistance from the Monroe County Business Development Corporation

Dan Dalach, Executive Vice President of Human Resources
